 Jemima Marcelle Khan (pronounced /ʤɪˈmaɪ.mə/; née Goldsmith; born 30 January 1974) is a British socialite  who has worked as a charity fundraiser, human rights campaigner and contributing writer for British newspapers and magazines. Khan first gained notice in the United Kingdom as a young heiress, the daughter of Lady Annabel and James Goldsmith. She married the retired Pakistani cricketer Imran Khan in 1995 before the couple divorced in 2004. For the next three years, from 2004 to 2007, Khan gained worldwide media attention for her romantic relationship with British film star Hugh Grant.

But today, she is discovering the downside of that sudden fame after a host of websites in the U.S. got hold of some private pictures of the 27-year-old in her underwear - and published them.

These are Frank Hurley’s famous early colour photographs of Sir Ernest Shackleton’s ill-fated ‘Endurance’ voyage, as part of the British Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition, 1914-1917. Hurley was the official photographer on the expedition.

Early in 1915, their ship ‘Endurance’ became inexorably trapped in the Antarctic ice. Hurley managed to salvage the photographic plates by diving into mushy ice-water inside the sinking ship in October 1915. - State Library of New South Wales.
